The beans affected are 15-ounce cans of Yellowstone Brown Sugar Molasses Baked Beans with a best-by date of February 17, 2028. A brand representative tells EatingWell that the recalled beans were sold at the following retailers: Associated Wholesale Grocers, K-VA-T Food Stores, Hy-Vee, Meijer and Walmart.

Through these grocery stores, the beans were sold in the following states: Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia.

Check your canned beans and, if they match the recall information, return them to your place of purchase for a refund. The impacted canned beans may contain soy, which is an undeclared allergen on the packaging. Those with a soy allergy that consume these beans may experience an allergic reaction as severe as anaphylaxis. If you are showing symptoms of anaphylactic shock such as hives, swelling, trouble breathing, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dizziness or tightness of the throat, call 911 immediately.
