Brooklyn Beckham, wife Nicola Peltz plant firm roots in US amid family rift: report

Brooklyn Beckham and his wife, Nicola Peltz, are planting firm roots in the US amid an ongoing rift with the rest of the Beckham clan.

The eldest son of Victoria and David Beckham has found himself at the center of a deepening rift that saw him skip his father’s 50th birthday celebrations on top of other family functions in recent months.

As tensions continue to grow, Brooklyn and his wife — to whom he’s been married since 2022 — are shifting their professional focus to a dog shelter in Los Angeles, The Sun reports.

Peltz, who has been an avid dog lover and advocate for pooch adoption for years, is enlisting the help of her husband in supporting Yogi’s House — the dog shelter she originally co-founded with her pal Emma Kenney.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2022, is teaming up for the Peltz Beckham Foundation, which aims to rescue and re-home homeless dogs around the area, the outlet reports.

The couple has filed paperwork in the Golden State to register the non-profit under both their names, the Sun adds.

Brooklyn and his wife’s love for dogs has been known for years.

The pair is said to have set up their new dog shelter in memory of their beloved pooch Bear, to whom they sadly bid farewell in 2023.

The previous year, Peltz gushed over the work Yogi’s House does in rescuing pups in the area.

“So far, we have saved over 30 dogs from euthanasia at the riverside shelter,” she said at the time. “The laws regarding euthanizing dogs are beyond heartbreaking and I will do everything I can to change them.”

The couple has also adopted their current dog, called Lamb.

“I’m so grateful for this love. Please adopt or foster if you can. The love it brings to your family is like nothing else,” she wrote on Instagram at the time, urging her fans to adopt, not shop.

Page Six has reached out to Beckham and Peltz’s reps for comment.

The new venture means Brooklyn, 26, and Peltz, 30, will be spending even more time in the US, making it more difficult for the Beckham family, who primarily live in the UK, to see him.

It’s said that David, 50, is “desperate to make amends” with his eldest son and doesn’t want “history to repeat itself,” given how fractured his relationship with his own father, Ted, had gotten in the past.

While the retired soccer legend and his dad now share a close bond, the pair had a massive falling out in 2005 that saw them go years without speaking.

David ultimately reached out to Ted in 2007 after he had suffered a near-death health scare, prompting the pair to bury the hatchet.

Sources told The Sun that David fears a similar situation taking place between him and Brooklyn.

“David and the family genuinely fear Brooklyn could be lost to them forever,” a source told the outlet.

“The word ‘lost’, here, is especially poignant as it was the exact sentiment used when David fell out with his dad.”

“Ted believed his son would never speak to him again, and he was heartbroken. It was an extremely tense few years, and devastated the whole family,” the insider added.

It comes just days after insiders claimed that Posh Spice is currently living out “her worst nightmare” as a result of the family drama.

“This is Victoria’s worst nightmare. The thought of any of her children falling out gives her sleepless nights,” a source said.
