Chicago Sky Star Announces Exciting Personal News Before Liberty Game

The Chicago Sky did not have their best performance to open up the 2025 WNBA season. They fell at the hands of the Indiana Fever by a lopsided score of 93 to 58.

This was especially disappointing because of all the offseason moves that the franchise made. Not only did they hire a new head coach in Tyler Marsh, but they added Ariel Atkins and Kia Nurse as well as future Hall of Fame point guard Courtney Vandersloot.

Although she is a legendary figure in the game, Vandersloot struggled a bit in her first game back with the Sky. She recorded just four points, five assists and four rebounds in 29 minutes of play.

Part of the reason that Vandersloot may not have brought her best stuff on opening weekend is because she missed a bit of the preseason due a rib injury, as well as the birth of her child.

On Thursday at the team’s shoot around, reporters asked if her child, as well as her wife, Allie, were going to be in attendance during the team’s second game of the season against the New York Liberty, her former team. The 15-year WNBA veteran gave the exact answer that fans wanted to hear.

“Yes, they will be in attendance,” Vandersloot confirmed. “I’m really looking forward to it. Hopefully Jana does okay with the noise, but I’m really looking forward to her being in the crowd.”
