Amazon MGM Studios has finally shared the official Countdown trailer for its newest crime drama led by Supernatural and The Boys star Jensen Ackles. The series is scheduled to make its debut on Wednesday, June 25, with a three-episode premiere. New episodes will follow weekly, leading up to the exhilarating season finale on Wednesday, September 3.
“When an officer with the Department of Homeland Security is murdered in broad daylight, LAPD detective Mark Meachum, is recruited to a secret task force, alongside undercover agents from all branches of law enforcement, to investigate,” reads the film’s official synopsis. “But the hunt for the killer soon uncovers a plot far more sinister than anyone could have imagined, kicking off a race against time to save a city of millions.”

What happens in the Countdown trailer?
The video introduces Ackles’ lead character, who becomes an undercover agent for next-level missions concerning threats that may harm the general public. It highlights some of the show’s action-packed and thrilling sequences.
Countdown is created by showrunner Derek Haas (One Chicago, FBI). Joining Ackles are Eric Dane (Grey’s Anatomy, Euphoria), and Jessica Camacho (The Flash, Watchmen). The series also stars Violett Beane (Death and Other Details), Elliot Knight (The Boys), and Uli Latukefu (Young Rock). Executive producers are Haas, Marc Bienstock, and Jonathan Brown. It is a production by Amazon MGM Studios.
Ackles is best known for his role as Dean Winchester in horror drama Supernatural, which lasted for fifteen seasons from 2005-2020. Aside from Countdown, he’s also set to reprise his The Boys role as Soldier Boy in the upcoming Vought Rising show.
