FOX NFL reporter Erin Andrews couldn’t believe her live television error during a new position on a show.
The 47-year-old Andrews’ mistake came on the second day of her new presenting role.
This week, Andrews has been a guest host on NBC‘s Jenna & Friends.
Things went swimmingly for Andrews on her first day, but she was in a bit of a pickle on the second day of her duties.
While alongside host Jenna Bush Hager, the Fox Sports sideline reporter spoke about her feelings about “side chatting” while texting, and accidentally exposed one of her girlfriends.
“I don’t think a side chat has to be a negative situation,” Andrews told Hager about having a second conversation with a select friend from a texting group chat.
“I think it’s like, ‘Oka, what do you think about this.;”
However, the discussion took a turn when Andrews said, “We were side chatting the other day, a couple girlfriends and I, about maybe names for babies.
“And my one girlfriend was like, ‘I like this,’ and my other girlfriend was like, ‘Do you really like that?'”
Instantly, Andrews realized she had revealed private info about her friend group and put her head in her hands.
“I just outed my friend’s chat,” she said. “Shoot, I just outed my friend’s chat!”
Andrews then specifically directed her attention to her friend, saying, “No! Megan, we love that name.
“It was my friend Megan that said it. We love the name, Megan.
“It’s not Megan, it was another name.”
Andrews then added, “We weren’t talking bad! No, no, no, everybody’s great. … My friends hate me!”
The stunning sequence came a day after her debut on the show.
During Andrews’s debut, she opened up about her experience with six-time Super Bowl champion head coach Bill Belichick.
“Bill Belichick is royalty, legend. He’s it, he is the Mount Rushmore. I know how he is on the field. He’s very matter-of-fact, you get two seconds to talk to him,” Andrews said while discussing the UNC head coach’s relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson.
“I am full-blown stomach cramps when I get ready to talk to him because I don’t want to mess up.
“And I kind of get excited and I start doing what I’m doing now and talking too much.”
Andrews’ live TV hosting work comes the same week that she, along with Michael Strahan and Tom Brady helped launch a new Fox streaming service.
The Fox NFL Sunday stars helped announce the launch of Fox One at the company’s upfront presentation in New York City on Monday.
