The Seattle Seahawks will be on Monday Night Football just once this season (barring flex scheduling), hosting the reigning AFC South champion Houston Texans on Monday, Oct. 20. It’s an intriguing matchup against a possible Super Bowl contender, and it’s live on ESPN…
Plus.
Yeah, the Seahawks were unable to avoid yet another exclusive streaming service game, whether Peacock, Netflix, or ESPN+.
When did ESPN+ start getting Monday Night Football exclusive games?
As part of the existing MNF contract, ESPN+ gets one regular season game all to itself. This agreement started with the Denver Broncos vs. Jacksonville Jaguars in London back in 2022. Last year it was the Los Angeles Chargers and Arizona Cardinals, this year it’s Seahawks vs. Texans. It’ll be the back-end of a doubleheader that starts with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Detroit Lions on ESPN/ABC at 4 pm PT.
How much does ESPN+ cost?
ESPN+ costs $11.99/month or $119.99 if you want an annual subscription. This is separate from ESPN’s new All-Access streaming service, which comes in at a modest $29.99/month.
What happens if you don’t have ESPN+?
Well… I’m sure you know some ways to watch. But do not fret if you’re upset. If you live in the Seattle (or Houston) area, this game will still be simulcast on local affiliates and you won’t have to subscribe to ESPN+ at all. This is not that much different than the two Thursday Night Football games on Prime Video (which… you know you can also watch for free on Twitch, right?)
What time does Seahawks vs. Texans kickoff?
7 pm PT. It’s the latest kickoff in Seahawks history. Hope you enjoy trying to get out of Lumen Field after 10 pm.
