Between movie tickets, popcorn and snacks, a trip to the movie theater can get expensive. But depending on what day you choose to see the latest box office hit, you could save a lot of money on tickets.
AMC is offering half-priced tickets on Wednesdays for summer 2025 and Regal is offering $1 tickets on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Here’s what to know about getting discounted movie tickets at AMC and Regal throughout the summer.
How does AMC’s ‘50% off Wednesday’ work?
Starting July 9, AMC Stubs members will be able to purchase tickets for half off the adult evening ticket price every Wednesday at all AMC locations throughout the U.S., according to a May 12 company news release.
Premium format movies such as IMAX at AMC, Dolby Cinema at AMC, PRIME at AMC and RealD 3D will be eligible for the base ticket price discount, though there may be additional charges.
Certain movies and holiday time periods may also be excluded from the promotion, though AMC is pushing to make it widely accessible, the company said.

If you’re not already an AMC Stubs member, you can sign up to be an AMC Stubs Insider member for free through the AMC mobile app, AMC website or in-person at your local AMC theater.

How does Regal’s $1 movie ticket promotion work?
Every Tuesday and Wednesday, from June 10 to Aug. 6, all Regal locations will offer Regal’s Summer Movie Express, during which a series of family movies will be available to watch for $1.
Some of the movies offered include “Sing 2,” “Puss in Boots,” “Trolls,” “Sonic” and “Paw Patrol.”
Along with this, Summer Movie Express guests can also purchase a “specially priced $5 Snack Pack, which includes a junior-sized drink, snack-sized popcorn, and fruit snacks” according to the website. An additional $3 can be saved if you also purchase an order of Dippin’ Dots.
How do Regal’s $6.99 movie tickets work?
Regal Crown Club members also get discounted movie tickets and popcorn every Tuesday.
At the Town of Dickinson theater, loyalty members can get movie tickets for $6.99 every Tuesday along with 50% off popcorn.
