MEMPHIS, Tenn. – If you’ve accidentally activated Siri over the past decade, you might be eligible for money from a new class action lawsuit.

At this link, you can apply to get as much as $20 per Siri device. Each applicant can receive up to $100.

HOW IT STARTED:

The lawsuit started in 2021 when users accused Siri of recording their private conversations after they unintentionally activated the voice assistant.

According to CNN, two plaintiffs blamed Siri after their mentions of Air Jordan sneakers and Olive Garden led to advertisements on their phones.

Apple denies the allegations but agreed to settle the lawsuit.

WHAT YOU NEED:

To qualify for a chunk of the $95 million settlement, you need to have purchased at least one Apple device with Siri between Sept. 17, 2014, and Dec. 31, 2024.

In the application, you can list up to five devices and provide proof of purchase, if you have it. The website also asks for a device serial number and model number.

WHERE ARE MY SERIAL NUMBERS?

That’s the tricky part of applying for the settlement! How are you supposed to find serial numbers for past devices?

If you purchased your Apple devices through a mobile phone carrier, check your account documents or billing history.

If you purchased the devices through Apple directly, you can check your email for the receipt or visit Apple’s website.

DEADLINE TO APPLY:

The deadline to apply for the settlement is July 2nd. Beware of imposter scams!
